We have partnered with Sherwood Chandeliers - Who's vision is to produce a range of unique, handmade chandeliers from distinctive wine bottles and french oak riddling racks.
Riddling racks were originally used as part of the aging process for French Champagne. The bottles were placed in the racks at a 45 degree angle, and rotated at regular intervals to collect sediment. This manual way of riddling sparkling wine is still used for Prestige Cuvées in Champagne, but has otherwise been largely abandoned because of the high labor costs. Riddling racks are becoming rare as demand for new racks have dropped sharply over the past decade.
